ATEM Mini Pro Quick Start
You have just purchased Blackmagic Designs ATEM Mini Pro. All of your HDMI inputs are connected to the unit, and you are ready to go. What now?
First, visit the Blackmagic Design Support page to download the ATEM Switchers Software (ATEM Software Control) and install it to your computer. Once installed, launch the program.
At the bottom of the screen, you have your Switcher (default home), Media, Audio, and Camera Tabs. On the main page of your ATEM Software Control window, you can see buttons pertaining to all of the inputs, allowing you to select the inputs you want to use.
Switching Between Video Inputs - ATEM Software
Please note that the program output is what is being sent out to the livestream.
1. Select the camera or computer input you want to switch to in the bottom “Preview” section. This queues it up to go out to your stream. If you have a multi-view monitor, you will also see the selected video source appear in the Preview section.
2. Press the “AUTO” button located in the Transition Style section of the window (circled above). This transitions the input that is on your Preview to go to your Program Out (out to your livestream).
Switching Between Video Inputs - ATEM Mini Pro Switcher
1. Select the camera or computer input you want to switch to by pressing the corresponding input button on the ATEM Switcher (i.e. “2” for Camera 2, “1” for PC, etc.). This queues it up to go out to your stream. If you have a multi-view monitor, you will also see the selected video source appear in the Preview section.
2. Press the “AUTO” button located to the bottom right of the switcher (circled below). This transitions the input that is on your Preview to go to your Program Out (out to your livestream).
Media on ATEM Software Control
The Media tab (located at the bottom of the ATEM Software Control Screen) allows you to load in media such as logos or backgrounds that you can cue up without any inputs being active. This serves as a backup or a “pre-show” input.
To cue up the media to your screens & stream:
1. Go to the main “Switcher” page on the ATEM Control Software
2. Select the MP1 button in the Preview section (bottom left) of the screen.
To add media content to the switcher, simply drag-and-drop the media file into the media thumbnail in the ATEM Software. Or use the built in file explorer located on the left side of the Media screen.
Streaming & Recording
On your ATEM Mini Pro Video Switcher, make sure that the camera or computer output you want to start your stream with is on the Program screen.
Press the “On Air” button on the top right of the switcher to begin streaming and press the “Rec” button to start recording to the hard drive (if applicable).
OR
On the right hand side of the ATEM Control Software, find the “Outputs” tab, and select it.
In the tab that opens up, you are able to control your streaming settings, as well as your recording settings by clicking on the appropriate section.
To begin recording, click on the “Record Stream” words, and select “Start” in the options that appear.
To begin streaming, click on the “Live Stream” words, and select the “On Air” button to go on air. *Note: This will only go live if you have already entered in your Live stream key & information.
End Recording & Streaming
1. To end your recording, press the STOP button under the REC button on the top right of the ATEM Mini Pro.
2. To stop streaming, press the OFF button located under the ON AIR button on the top right of the ATEM Mini Pro.
3. Make sure to end the stream on your streaming platform.

b. Vimeo – select end event
c. YouTube – End live
